A Taste of Taiwan: Lugang Cafe

23 Jan

Was so into my fashion 366 that I forgot about all my foodie quests. So here you go, after some time, my foodie brouhaha!

Heard about Lugang from so many friends but I’m hesitant to check it out because of its location. I’m really not a Greenhills person so this gastro delight gets bumped off my list everytime. Not until last December when they decided to open one in MOA – oh my lord, come to momma! :)

Lugang is Bellagio’s (the famous Shanghai based Taiwanese restaurant) franchise in Manila – it is known in Shanghai for its cuisines and yummy desserts. Everyone’s just raving about their Xiao Long Bao which I was eggsighted to try out too but holy mother of feist, seeing the menu was a totally different story! Haha! Hello, pigout!

Lugang's a forever box office!

The lines are just crazy everyday! They don’t do reservations unless its for a group of eight and above.

Love the cafe's interiors. Cutesie bird cage-ish lights in one area.

This is the innermost part at the ground level. Bigger tables for more pax

NOW, FOOD! Happy tummy super super!

Oyster Omelette with Sweet & Spicy Sauce (Php 180). Super yumyum!

Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (Php 188) - never failed my expectations! Super loved it. I can actually eat it everyday. Imma dumplings monster!

The Three-Cup Chicken (Php 290) was my favorite! I can't explain the taste but my tastebuds sure loved it. It's one of their house specials after all :)

I love cranberry juice! So I had no second thoughts 'bout getting their Cranberry Juice with Mango (Php 133) the minute I saw it on the drinks list. So refreshing! That's the only drink I'm getting everytime I eat there!

We also tried their Taiwanese Salt & Pepper Shrimp (Php 380) but the photo’s missing. Gah. Anyway, its also good :) Lugang really exceeded my expectations – it looks pretty intimidating  (exteriors and ish) but prices are really reasonable. Definitely recommending this for those who wants some piece of authentic Taiwanese dish. I’m sure to go back to test the rest of the menu :)

2012 Golden Globes Red Carpet Lovelies

16 Jan

Today’s not just another day at the office cause well, the Golden Globes’ keeping me company. Lovin’ all the glitz, glamour and drama of the whole red carpet stint and how that tiny bit of a moment makes or breaks you – hahaha! Hello fashion police!

Here’s my top picks for the year – what’s not to love?

Charlize Theron is the Golden Globes' charmer this year for me. She just looks lovely and oh so fresh in Dior Couture. Not to mention those Cartier diamond headband. Droooool!

Claire Danes went classic with this JMendel black and ecru column. The red lipstick + back design's the killer. Haha!

Heidi Klum couldn't go wrong with this nude Calvin Klein dress. The turquoise bib necklace gives this ensemble all the extra oompf!

The mermaid dress was a red carpet trend this year. But only two stars rocked it in my books. Sofia Vergara bags first place in this Vera Wang peacock mermaid. Love the peacock details!

Elle Macpherson is my mermaid lady number 2. Love the Zac Posen dress and those colorful blings by Lorraine Schwartz

Emma Stone's Lanvin love!

Jessica Chastian rocked this Givenchy white gown! Not to mention the Harry Winston embroidery!

Julianne Moore's back to basics with a black Chanel gown. Love the green tassel bling!

Rooney Mara proves that simple is sexy! She just look so glam and beautiful in this Nina Ricci dress. PS: She looks like Demi no?

And yay for Meryl Streep who won Best Actress in a Motion Picture for Iron Lady. Okay people, remember that one’s red carpet look doesn’t necessarily mirror talent! Haha! Don’t get me wrong, I love Meryl Streep – just not digging her outfit and speech today – someone had a bad case of hangover! Blah!

I was really so lazy yesterday morning and was just thinking of wearing something ultra casual *what the ultra! haha* but I realized that I had to attend our sales & marketing meeting as well as the company’s orientation for new employees – so havta be decent! Blah.

Good thing I have my good ol’ bestfriend *and I bet everyone else’s*, little miss black dress which came to the rescue. They are just fash lifesavers! All you need is just a bit of accessories for that bibbidi bobbidi boo! :)

Prim and proper (not)! Lol!

Love my necklace' blings. Feathurrrs!

My lbd's big reveal. Love how this piece is a day til night thing. Always practical to have an item like this in your wardrobe

Black's just classic chic - never goes out of style.

5 Jan

Tuesday was Wander Barbie’s kiddo date. Went all the way to good ‘ol Smart-Araneta Coliseum  to watch Disney on Ice *ooh I love Disney Princesses!* I actually wanted to wear something Hannah Montana-ish *tutu and colored stockings* but I realized its yeah, Cubao – and I don’t wanna appear like a circus gal from Fiesta Carnival on break *haha*

Still with Hannah Montana in mind, I opted to just do her normal Miley look and there you go, I felt I looked a bit younger wearing what I did. See for yourself :)

Peg. Haha.

Went plaid with a little bit of twist. Uhm.

Plaid + Scarf + Cutoffs + Floral Sneaks

PROJECT 366 | 1/366: Giddy Prints

Remembered talking one time last year to my friend Sara Alvarez about possible stuffits to post in my blog and she came up with the idea of doing a Fashion Project 365 366 pala according to Liza Ilarde because its a leap year! *which I thought was really nice* so voila, 2012 is for daily blog updates about what I’m wearing *how cool is that? – NOT* haha!

Since 2012 is all for luuurve and ish *that puts self love on top, haha* – pardon my vanity. Starting up!

1/366: GIDDY PRINTS

I was feeling all giddy and happy last Monday cause I was really perking myself up for the first day of work so I chose a printed top and skirt for an instant outfit baaaam!

Holla, 2012!

4 Jan

So everyone has a year-end/start of the year post – and so do I *haha* but Imna make this one short and sweet – just like the year that was. So long 2011, you were one hell of a life coach! Kthanksandbye!

They say 2012 is the end of the world and what better way to end it than living a full life – subjective yes, but what the heck, however you take it – GO!

Life Mantra Forever: Seize The Day!

This year I wanna take everything farther – no room for low spirits. I’m willing and owning everything!

My battle cry this year - DREAM BIG-GER!

Need an overdose of these

I really wanna do music, i long wanted to + travel mooooooore, like way more than I did back in 2011. So that means uhm, 20++ hahahaha!

Just keeping my fingers crossed to fulfill everything I have in my bucket – there’s a whole lotsa more to this but let’s say these are my core values for the year. So there it goes, baby steps in making all things happen – one big fight!

And just when everything seems hard - remember, nothing is impossible. If there's a will, there's a way people!

Happy New Year!
