Cerveseria!

17 Jun

Greenbelt 3′s now home to a cozy chill-out-over-wine-and-tapas-place, Cerveseria!

Tried it out after a movie date with my favorite HP-IT-Whiz’es-people of the world and boy what fun we had! Haha! Bubu on the photo’s though as we just had our berries to count on. Love the place cause we got the private seats with drapes and ish – feel na feel ko lang. Voila!

Love the chandeliers! Its actually frosted to help out on the lights effect when they’re on bar mode

They had bookshelves as dividers. Very Member's Only. Classic.

The food’s quite good. Serving is small though – some tactic I know to make you want moooore! Haha!

Waitin' up with Bebs and Li-an. Yayayay!

START UP! Margarita | White Russian| Tequila Sunrise *tama ba Li-an?*

Drinks for three cause the great Cess Perez is on water theraphy! Bwahahaha!

Pasta en Crema de Champiniones

Cream Mushroom Pasta (Php 280) was love for me cause I ♥♥♥♥ mushrooms like that!

Salpicao!

Salpicao is Beef Tenderloin in trufle oil and garlic (Php 280) – the beef’s heavenly easy to chew! I don’t think they use trufle oil though. Boo.

Calamares Fritos

Baby Squid and Garlic Aoili (Php 298). The night’s best seller cause it was just so yum yum yum!

Huevos Rotos con Tocino

Fried String Potatos with Egg and Bacon (Php 180) hello. cholesterol! Haha!

Cerveseria’s stamped with a star in my books – i just hate that they’re playing loud 80′s music starting 10pm – ruined the talkies moment.  But overall were all happy puppies, major adrenaline rush that we had to go to Mercato to cool it all off. Mochi balls!

Spell close up?! Hello big fazes!

Master SAP-ers. Hello HP Community

You can also avail of the all day-wine all you can at Php 588. That's a winner deal people!

MARIBAGO: Summer and Bluewater

29 Apr

SUMMER! Not really my fave time of the year because I hate it when it’s too hot. But since i love wandering and ish, summer is one of the most lovely time to roam around and have all yeah water fun.

But where to go though? Have no fear, the Philippines is here. 7,107 islands are way too many options for you. :)

Cebu is one of my favorite destinations and Maribago Bluewater is just my fave – been here over 10x in my life and I can’t think of any reason not to come back again.

#1: BEACHFRONT

THE COVE! Beachfront Babeh!

Maribago Bluewater is the only resort in Mactan with a nice beach front. Yeeha! See that island! Precious.

#2: WINNER POOLS

The resort's centerpiece is the Allegro pool

Amuma Spa's pool area is more relaxed :)

I never enjoyed pool dipping as much as I do here. Relax chill time.

#3: FOOD!

Fresh Lobsters!

Cold Roe Pasta. Yuuuum!

MY SUPER FAVORITE! Crabs and shrimps in coconut paste. This was served flaming. Hello Bacardi 151?!

Seafoods Galore. Maribago is the only resort in Mactan that serves fresh seafoods, like right out of the waters. And super love their cook Chef Allan Mathay, he’s the best!

#4: ROOMS

Premiere Deluxe Huts

Nice cantilever beds! Witwew!

God. You will never go wrong with this. I swear!

#5: SPAAAAA! :)

Amuma Spa's just wow!

Amuma Spa's Centerpiece: Si Malakas at si Maganda :)

Spa Lounge

Maribago’s  Amuma Spa is just wow. Imma outta words. One of the best I’ve been too. Im strongly recommending their Amuma Hilot which is the traditional Filipino massage or if you want over the top pampering you can try The Hiloy Journey which comes with a scrub and bath before the massage.  The facility’s interior is major too. Oh well, it’s not Benji Reyes’ for nothing. :)

NIght swimming with Charliewarlie :)

Fire Dancers! :)

Summer should be all chill and fun. Maribago’s sure to give you that and moooore! :)

Isdaan Restaurant

24 Apr

So I told you guys a day ago about our fun trip at Isdaan and how the place was themed park-ish, lol. Now Imna go down to business and blab about the food. Tentenententen!

Isdaan is operated by the Barrio Fiesta group, hence establishing its food cred immediately upon opening. They have a separate area with the Singing Cooks and Waiters which was pure nostalgia to me *my grandpa loved them so*. No worries though for those who wants to stay in their private huts cause they have a bunch of singers roaming around to serenade you – and mind you, playlist’s updated! They’re doing Bruno Mars and The Biebs yo! Lol!

FOR THE Nth TIME, FOOD PORN – HERE WE GOOO!

MAMA CHIT PLATTER

Mama Chit’s platter (Php 585) is a mix of all things fried. Haha. From crabs, fish, shrimps, meat, chicken, spring rolls and all that jazz.  Loved the lechon kawali and spicy fried tilapia.

Kare-Kareng Gulay (Vegetables in Peanut Paste)

Vegetable Kare Kare (Php 187). I’m a big kare-kare fan. As in I can eat this everyday. You foodies know that Barrio Fiesta makes one of the most amazing kare kare in the world!

Hototay Soup

Serry for the poor photo. I can’t seem to get a nice shot of this one. Boo. Hototay Soup’s (Php 297) serving is really big for its price. Flavor’s really good too!

Pansit Isdaan

Pansit Isdaan (Php 374). Your typical chinese noodles cooked the Pinoy way. Nothing really special about their version only that they topped it with fish and some mussels.

Pinaputok sa Dahon na Pla-pla

Cause my dad’s crazy for fishes. Didn’t get to try this dish but they say its good. Very reasonably priced (3 pcs at Php 299)

Lechon Tinupig na Manok

If you’ve been following me here, you know by now that im nuts for all things chicken. Hahaha! So voila, Lechon Tinupig na Manok (Php 385). I don’t really know what tinupig means but Im guessing it has something to do with wrapping the thing in banana leaf before frying. This was actually my favorite! Not just because its chicken but the flavor’s really wow! The chicken was marinated in coconut cream, wrapped in banana leaf then fried to purrfection. OMG. NOW IM SOO HUNGREH! Haha!

Sinaing na Kanin

The rice is served as is after cooking. Really cute. An order (Php 135) serves about 3-4 but can go low up to two if you’re a major rice person.

Happy Family Tummy Faces! Busog! *burp*

Isdaan is definitely a must try for all those planning to go up-north. Will definitely go back soon :)

See you soon!

Will work for GOOD food,

Cam Fun at Isdaan

22 Apr

Im really a family gal. I love my family *wait, who doesn’t?* and I just love spending quality time with them. We rarely go out ever since dad was diagnosed with the big c but I just feel blessed that everything’s been running pretty well lately *some minor health ish but still pretty good* – so mom and dad decided to go to Manaoag for some healing and thanksgiving, super taking advantage of the lenten break, haha! Then off we go to Isdaan en route back to Manila for lunch and I find the concept of the establishment rather cute. Wasn’t really wow so cute would do. Lol!

Isdaan is located in Gerona Tarlac, right in between Manila and Pangasinan.

The restaurant’s obviously serving Filipino dishes but I was rather confused with the aesthetics. Mixture of Pinoy novelty and Thai architecture (case in point: Buddha’s and the pointed antenna-ish of the huts)

Buddha Bless You. This big golden buddha made me miss Bangkok.

Why hello there Buddha. I don’t know, maybe its for some auspicious shit but yeah, the place have only-god-knows-how-many-buddhas-carrying-fishes. Hahaha!

That's some catch!

Found their pond’s design really noice. Bamboo fish baits with stone fishes *but there’s live fish in the pond that you can feed too*

TACSIYAPO!

Isdaan is also known for its Tacsiyapo or angst wall. You can buy plates that you can actually smash off the wall, targeting whoever person you want. Tacsiyapo is a kapampamngan word meaning shame on you, which explains why the words written on the wall are all pinoy isuues, intrigues and bv roots. Eyes on the target and hit it with your best shot. Btw, you can throw off televisions too – they’re selling it for Php 2000 just in case you wanna go ballistic. :p

MY TURN!

Guess who my target was. Haha!

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Mwahahahahaha!

CLASSIC. Thanks to these guys my dad had so much fun! Haha!

Just because my dad looks like Jojo Binay. Hahaha!

Of course Ninoy should be there. Spell Tarlac.

ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES. Installations of guards doing funny things on the job as well as Pinoy VIP’s made my dad’s day. First time he really enjoyed camwhoring with us. Good job gaiz!

Snaps!

Daddy's Girls!

Love, love Isdaan. But I love easy breezy quality time with my loved ones more! ♥♥♥

PS: I’m posting a separate food review, watch out. :)

Lotsa love,

DINER DASH: Johnny Rockets

17 Apr

And so our search for the metro’s best diner is on, sooo on. Haha. *takaw mode again*

FIRST STOP: JOHNNY ROCKETS

Johnny Rockets’ your usual American diner.  Just a bit more fun because of  the coolio jukebox that’s playing ze bunchie’s friday rockeoke music. Hahaha! *breaking up is haaaard tooo dooooo, lalalala!*

1 PESO JUKEBOX! :)

The Tomas Morato branch have jukebox ports per table better than Eastwood’s one man machine. Love, love. :)

Icebreaker Yo! Haha!

Every 10 or so minutes the staff dances to some oldschool disco beat. Now that’s value added. Haha!

Bacon Cheddar Single: Applewood smoked bacon, Cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato, white onion & special sauce.

Not a happy burger without ze bacoooon! Imma bacon kiddo.

Route 66: Named after a famous US Highway, this baby has swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions & mayonnaise.

Bunch = Mushrooms, forever. Haha!

Oreo and Chocolate Malt Shake

They really serve good malt shakes – better than the burger actually

Hello Ketchup. Haha.

Food wasn’t stellar though – just okay. But the ambiance made up for it – it’s really a happy place! Johnny Rockets’ just one happy pill. Living up to its value prop – it really is WHERE THE GOOD TIMES ROLL :)

Every bit of Johnny Rockets inviting!

A TASTE OF NYC: New York Pizza Palace

10 Apr

In the quest for the metro’s best pizza, Bunch and I found ourselves in New York Pizza Palace – a pretty new establishment in A. Venue Mall. Went there for dinner late last week and was just wowed by the store’s concept. Super few peeps when we went there and I think its because of the location (Makati Avenue’s traffic is just a big whut) – but what the heck, love to have places on my own, im selfish people. Haha! Kidding. The owners really tried their best to give the locals a taste of the big apple – really noice!

NYC related signages and wall graffiti

The LED display just sets the mood.

NYC in Manila. Move over Cubao (LOL). The interiors was just so close to New York (as I’ve seen in relatives’ photos). Love the LED screens, for me thats the biggest ambiance factor. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind was continuously playing too – now that’s taking it way too literally for me. Haha.

Waiting tag's labeled with NY street names

New York Cheese Pizza. B's top pick!

Baked Ziti! Fell in love with this at first taste. Yumyum!

Buffalo Wings. Chicken bias here. Haha! I make sure to try all the buffalo wings in the universe. NYPP's version though was different cause they're not serving it with blue cheese but rather with a special sauce made of im-really-not-sure-what but was most definitely awesome!

Food was really good. I can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu. Sad too that I wasn’t able to try any of the dessert cause we had to run to a friend’s emergency. But don’t get me wrong, i love my friends :)

Can't get over the interiors. They even have a subway map and station seats - which I took advantage of. Photo opt gaiz. Haha!

Lovely night lights! :)

NYPP’s a two thumbs up for me. Happy Tummy, really! :)

New York Pizza Palace (NYPP) | G/F A. Venue Mall, Unit F 105-106, 7829 Makati Ave. | (632) 720-5977 | Open Sunday – Saturday, 11:00 am – 2:00 am | Price Range: 100 – 600 | Cash and Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard) accepted

The carrot cake's too cute for a photo opt. Haha!

Major dessert sampler! You can actually choose from the following: Devil’s Food Cake, Carrot Cake, Dayap Chiffon Cake, Kahlua Butter Cake or Prune Cake (P70). The Devil’s Food Cake was really yuuuum!

Mango juice and the not-so-happy-iced-tea. Haha!

The universe loved us extra that day cause there was a string duo serenading the guests that night. They were super good – was so kilig the whole time listening to them! The violinist just reminded me of how frustrated I was to learn how to play that instrument. Playlist was just AWESOME. Major!

Hands down to these guys! One of the reasons why that night was so awesome! Galing! :)

Happy Foodies! Yayayay! Chocolate Kiss saved the day! Haha!
